The Metro New York Chapter of the International Association for Intelligence Education (IAFIE) along with the The St. John’s University Homeland Security Student Association (IAFIE’s Student Chapter), will host their first annual local student IAFIE conference in Queens, New York on April 18, 2020.

The goal of the conference is to promote the conversation of intelligence and global security. This conference will provide an opportunity for networking among scholars who all carry with them the same interest in intelligence and global security studies. This conference will help students become comfortable with sharing their own research amongst like-minded peers, through topics in which they are passionate about.

We seek papers from those who are aligned with this year’s theme **Emerging Global Threats and its Impact on Intelligence and Global Security. ** The aim of this conference is to examine how intelligence and global security has advanced and changed with the emergence of new threats. Students can examine intelligence or global security curricula and design. Students may also focus specifically on threats that have emerged and created cause for re-examination from a global security or intelligence aspect to counter these threats.

This conference welcomes undergraduate and graduate students who are studying in intelligence and security programs as well as related fields. Specifically, we invite, individual paper proposals, in or relating to the following areas:

  • Emerging global threat and its impact on global security;
  • Global threat and their impact on intelligence curriculum design and delivery;
  • Advancement of technology and its effect on global security and intelligence collection;
  • Counter-Intelligence and its impact on combating threats; and
  • International collaboration initiatives to advance intelligence education.
