Congratulations and WELCOME!!!

You are one of hundreds of intelligence educators world-wide from government, academia, and the private sector joining in an endeavor to advance the study of intelligence. You elected me as your President, and I will spend the next couple of years working with you to strengthen IAFIE as our flagship professional association.

As an IAFIE member, you have access to professional resources to help you to deepen your knowledge of the intelligence field and intelligence instructional techniques.  IAFIE gives you with the opportunity to interact with top people in this field and the chance to share ideas with colleagues. Our website (www.iafie.org) will provide you with one-stop shopping for references, materials, syllabi, and an employment clearing-house.   We also have a growing social media presence -- starting with:

LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/groups/3958943/)

Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Nonprofit-Organization/IAFIE-547028552062405/).

IAFIE began fifteen years ago at Mercyhurst University, where it began at a small colloquium in 2004.  It is now a strong, international association, with dozens of institutions supporting it through their membership.   New intelligence studies programs are emerging every year, created by our members, learning from each other's shared experiences, methods, sources and materials.    IAFIE now hosts a major international conference every year plus growing several vibrant local chapters.

I’d like to challenge you, new members and old, to help us continue to grow by inviting at least one new member to join, OR convincing your organization to become an institutional member or corporate sponsor OR by helping start a student chapter at your organization OR BETTER YET all three. You can find information under the Membership tab on our website.

We need to make our association stronger, more relevant to the working-level educator, and more capable of advancing the professionalization of Intelligence. IAFIE can become the basis for Intelligence becoming fully a profession, like our colleagues in medicine and the law.

Yours in Freedom,

Dr. Barry A. Zulauf
